JA Global Connection
This August 3rd to August 15th, fourteen students from Lyman Hall and Mark T. Sheehan High School in Wallingford and one student from Cheshire High School are heading to China to participate in a landmark Junior Achievement international exchange program, JA Global Connection, sponsored by United Technologies Corporation. Through this program, the students learn first-hand about American and Chinese business, entrepreneurship, global trade, leadership and culture.
This year’s JA Global Connection began in the summer of 2015 when a group of 20 students from China spent a week in Connecticut working alongside student peers from Wallingford and Cheshire. Throughout the school year, the students formed companies and have been importing and exporting products.
Next week our Connecticut students will visit China to reconnect with their JA Global Connection counterparts and complete their projects. The Connecticut students will also be visiting the U.S Embassy/Beijing American Center, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall, Fudan University in Shanghai, Terra-cotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an, and much more!
