This impact came to life in countless ways. As Sham and Shahd Mahaini, students from Engineering and Science University Magnet School in New Haven, shared after participating in the Stock Market Challenge:
“JA gave us way more than just financial knowledge. We learned teamwork, how to handle pressure, and how to take smart risks. …And most of all, we learned that we do belong in these spaces. That we can be part of the business world, the finance world, and whatever future we choose.”
Educators echoed this feeling of growth, as well as the mark of the programs and volunteers left in the classroom. Ginette K., a 1st grade teacher at Laurel Literacy Academy in Bloomfield, reflected:
“The volunteers’ professionalism, warmth, and genuine manner in delivering the JA curriculum was seamless. The volunteers had a natural way of speaking and interacting with the students that expressed genuine interest in their answers and enthusiasm for learning. The best part of the JA program experience came from seeing so many students raising their hands to participate. The engagement level of the class was at its best. Seeing students become risk takers when answering questions and sharing their background knowledge and connections to content brought a smile to me.... The JA program brings application to learning, and not just memorization, and the students’ kinesthetic/experiential learning will long be remembered!”

Looking back, the progress made in 2024–2025 sets a high bar for what’s surely an even more exciting chapter ahead. In FY26, JASWNE remains committed to expanding programs, strengthening partnerships, and equipping even more students with the tools and confidence to take charge of their futures.
